You’ve probably heard me say I’m not interested in shooting a buck inside a fence. Well, that depends on your definition of “inside a fence”. Yesterday afternoon was my granddaughter’s third birthday and the party was at 6:30. That gave me just enough time to sit behind my house and still make the party on time, of course without extenuating circumstances. For some reason I felt lucky when I got into the stand. Maybe it was the very cold temps, I’m not sure, but I had no real reason otherwise to be optimistic based on my trail cam pics. However, my feeling was right on and I drilled an 8 pointer about 5:30, inside the fence I had put up to keep the hogs out. He went about a 100 yds and rolled up. I found him but had to leave him there until after the party. Made for a long, cold night. Hope to have the video up soon. Later…
