We’ve got another storm to contend with. Keeping my fingers crossed that we miss the rain we got a month ago. That would absolutely ruin our season. Hopefully we’ll get just a couple of inches.
Stay tuned……

One of my good friends sarcastically asked me if I was still maintaining my website. I told him absolutely but I need some fresh video. Ordinarily I would have killed at least one by now since bow season opened on August 15th. But, this has not been an ordinary season because of the storm that came ashore and dumped 15 inches of rain on us about opening day The result has been a gazillion blood-thirsty mosquitos which has kept me from hunting until just recently. Yesterday was only the fourth sit I’ve had this season. It’s just now become bearable and I actually yesterday afternoon had my first opportunity to shoot and I passed a good buck. I think I made a mistake doing that but I can’t go back for a redo and it is what it is. Anyway, things are looking up and hopefully I’ll have some “new material” soon. Good luck to you as well. Later…

Well, the 2023 season is in the books. It was interesting to say the least. Let’s just call it a mixed bag – the good, the bad and the ugly. If you”ve reviewed all my videos for the year I don’t need to explain because we all know a picture/video is worth a thousand words. I played “cat and mouse” with a couple of really good bucks almost in my backyard, literally. I had close encounters with both bucks but only managed to close the deal on one of them. Oh well, there’s always next year! I’ve at least got something to look forward to – the one I didn’t get made it through the season. I ended the season with three nice bucks. Not bad. Time now to look forward to the Thunder Chickens!!

I finally had my first sit of the 2023 season yesterday. It’s been a lot of years since I’ve gone 2 weeks of the season before going out but the heat has been unbearable. I said I would not go out unless the afternoon temp was below 90 degrees. Yesterday it was 86! All I can say is the wait paid off and I was rewarded with a nice velvet 9-pointer. Had a great hunt to say the least. I hope to have a video up on the site in a few days. Later….
